Alex J. Hogarth, PA-C

Alex Hogarth, PA-C, developed his passion for spine care after nearly six years working in trauma surgery, where he cared for patients with acute and traumatic spinal injuries. That experience led him to pursue a career in orthopedic spine surgery, where he now combines his trauma background with a commitment to individualized patient care.

As a board-certified physician assistant, Alex believes that treating the spine requires looking at more than an MRI or X-ray. He takes a whole-patient approach, considering each person’s symptoms, goals, lifestyle, and overall health when developing a treatment plan.

“I believe in meeting patients where they are. My goal is to listen, understand the whole picture, and help patients make informed decisions about their care. A scan is an important part of the story, but it isn’t the whole story," he says.

Alex is passionate about helping patients understand their spine condition, navigate their treatment options and feel supported throughout their care. Outside of work, Alex, his wife, and two sons enjoy exploring northern Michigan.

Alex is an avid college football fan and enjoys biking and coaching his kids’ sports teams, as well as spending northern Michigan summers on a boat or at the beach.
