About Barrett A. Kielhorn
Dr. Barrett Kielhorn, DO FACOS joined Munson Healthcare as a general surgeon in 2018. He is the trauma medical director at Munson Healthcare Charlevoix Hospital and practices at Munson Healthcare Charlevoix Surgeons. Through his commitment to quality, participation in medical student education, and involvement in the trauma program at Charlevoix Hospital, Dr. Kielhorn seeks to deliver exceptional care at a community level.
He is involved in all aspects of patient care from emergent surgical care to elective endoscopy and surgical cancer care. He stresses the importance of treating the patient as an individual and addressing all aspects of their care. He works closely with each patient’s primary care physician and outside consultants to ensure patients receive high quality care throughout their treatment.
Dr. Kielhorn has three children. He enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, participating in community events, and cooking anything from the local farmer’s market. He cherishes the people and events that make small community life in northern Michigan special.
