Benjamin J. Edwards, MD

Benjamin Edwards, MD, is a Michigan native born in Lansing and raised in Greenville.
Dr. Edwards chose family medicine because during medical school he enjoyed interacting with patients of all ages. He loves being able to work in a setting to call multi-generational families his patients. In his Charlevoix practice, Dr. Edwards provides care ranging from newborns in the hospital nursery to children, adults, pregnancy care, and end-of-life care. He has a special interest in newborn care, pregnancy care, orthopedic/sports medicine, and weight management.
Dr. Edwards’ favorite part of medicine is forming a problem-solving partnership with his patients and families to figure out the best treatments for them as an individual. “In medical school I was taught the most important aspect of evaluating a patient is the history or patient’s story. There is such great value when physicians take the time to simply listen. I will always try to be a good listener for my patients and partner with them to find the correct diagnosis and treatment plan.”
Dr. Edwards is married and has two children, two cats, and a dog. He enjoys hiking and spending time in the woods with his family, running, fishing,  and downhill and cross-country skiing.
