About John L. Coatney
John Coatney, MD, was born in Kentucky and grew up in Denver, Colorado. He moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan in 2009 and spent 9 years there before moving to Traverse City.
Dr. Coatney chose to practice Electrophysiology because it offers many beneficial procedures and requires problem-solving to treat patients’ healthcare needs. He is passionate about doing whatever is needed to get the best outcome for his patients.
“The trust patients put in doctors to make careful decision and recommendations is a huge privilege and is sacred to me. I love that I get to help people through some of their most difficult times in life.”
In his free time, Dr. Coatney enjoys spending time with his spouse, three children, and dog.
