John W. Fanta, MD

John Fanta, MD, is a native of Yankton, South Dakota. 

Dr. Fanta is fascinated by neurology and the variety of conditions he is able to treat within the specialty. He has a special interest in electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies. 

Dr. Fanta enjoys helping patients understand their condition, determining the next steps in treatment together, and serving as a trusted guide to more optimal health and well-being. 

“The brain serves as the essence of who we are, and helping those recovering from medical conditions affecting the brain is especially rewarding,” he says. “I hope to lead my patients to a more meaningful and full life.” 

In his free time, Dr. Fanta likes exploring the outdoors and spending quality time with family. He enjoys watching sports, especially football and basketball, and has become a Michigan Wolverines and Detroit Lions fan.
