About Michael J. McDonald
Michael McDonald, DO, is a Michigan native born and raised in Brighton.
Dr. McDonald received his undergraduate degree in engineering because he enjoyed problem-solving. He was then drawn to medical school, particularly orthopedics, because he desired to have more interaction with people and make an impact in the lives of others.
Seeing patients come through their injuries and get back to actively living their lives is Dr. McDonald’s favorite part of practicing medicine. He enjoys being able to solve problems quickly while creating long lasting bonds with his patients during the recovery process. He welcomes any orthopedic trauma-related issues, including acute fractures and chronic issues such as nonunion and malunion. He has a special interest in pelvis and acetabular surgery.
“Above all else, I want my patients to know I am their advocate and will do everything I can to help them. I pride myself on being honest and educating myself further.”
Dr. McDonald is married to his wife Samantha. They have four children, three girls and one boy, and a goldendoodle. In his free time, he enjoys anything outdoors including camping, hiking, and golfing.
