Michael J. Opperman, MD

Michael Opperman, MD, PhD was born and raised in the thumb region of Michigan. He earned both his medical degree and his PhD from Michigan State University, completing his MD through the College of Human Medicine and his PhD in cell and molecular biology. He then went on to complete his psychiatry residency at Indiana University School of Medicine.   
Dr. Opperman was always intrigued with psychology and how the mind worked. Over time, he was shown that modern psychiatry practice and treatment of mental health goes far beyond what is shown in popular media. “Psychiatry is a medical field most reliant on working with patients to understand not only what the issues are, but also what can be done to help them.”
