Natika A. Mitchell-Cowie, NP

Tika Mitchell-Cowie, MSN, FNP-C, is a Northern Michigan native from Oscoda County. 

She has more than two decades of experience in healthcare and has worked in specialty areas such as acute and intensive care, obstetrics, neonatal care, pediatrics, homecare/hospice, and emergency medicine. 

In her current role in family medicine, Tika is passionate about nutrition, exercise, and “lifestyle first” approaches to maintaining and improving health, as well as serving rural communities.  

“I enjoy providing care to individuals and families, as well as increasing access to primary and preventive health care in the communities in which I live,” she says. 

Outside of work, Tika enjoys quiet sports such as backpacking, hiking, fly fishing, mountain biking, and kayaking. At home, she enjoys growing and storing her own food, landscaping, quilting, and DIY projects. She and her husband have two college-age children, two border collies, and a rescue tuxedo cat.
